* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of northwest California, including the following county, northwestern Humboldt. * WHEN...Until 500 AM PST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 235 AM PST, gauge reports indicated heavy rain. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas have already caused minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 0.8 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Eureka, Arcata, Orick, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Trinidad, McKinleyville, Westhaven-Moonstone, Carlotta, Scotia, Ferndale, Blue Lake, Myrtletown, Samoa, Cutten, Bayview, Freshwater, Fairhaven, Pine Hills and Humboldt Hill. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Information: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in additional flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
